Fundraising

Lions & Rotary Service Clubs from throughout the South Island are committed to fundraising for our new accommodation facility.  We are very grateful for their ongoing support of Ranui and the Bone Marrow Cancer Trust.  We will keep you advised of fundraisers and events they are planning, to raise funds for the project.

Janie's Little Book of Baking
Janies Little Book of Baking has been put together by her family in memory of one of our Haematology patients who stayed at Ranui with her family for some time.  Jane was an amazing cook so the family decided to put together a book of her recipes as a fundraiser for the Trust.  We thank Janes family for their wonderful support and initiative. We are also thrilled that the Lions Service Groups throughout the South Island have agreed to sell these cookbooks as a fundraiser for our new building.  Janie's Cookbooks sell for $15.00 each.

LIONS LARK IN THE PARK 2007 FUNDRAISER

The Lions Club of Dunedin North in association with Classic Hits 89.4 FM is holding a family entertainment day on Sunday 11th February 2007 in the Dunedin Botanic Gardens to support the Ranui House New Accommodation Project and raise awareness of the importance of the patient & family accommodation facility to Otago & Southland people.

To date Ranui has accommodated 188 patients from Otago & Southland, plus their families but unfortunately Ranui is often now full to capacity and is having to turn patients away.  The new accommodation building is scheduled to be completed in December 2007 making an additional 18 units available for patients and their families to stay while the patient is receiving treatment at Christchurch Hospitals.

Lions Lark in the Park, part of the Dunedin summer festival, is a day of non stop entertainment including singing, dancing, displays, bands, stroytelling, childrens activities including free rides, bouncy castle and lots more.  Ranui House will also be represented at the event.

Funds are raised through the Dunedin North Lions well known all day sausage sizzle as well as a chocolate wheel and raffle table for which many big prizes are donated by sponsors from all over the city.  There will be opportunities for public donations and admission to the venue is free.
